Professor Debra Mesch will discuss ways in which performance management can be viewed as a positive experience. She also will introduce ways to use performance appraisals. Join our panel discussion on improvements in performance management systems along with refreshments. This networking event is provided at no cost to you.

Event Speaker: Debra Mesch, Ph.D.

Debra MeschDebra Mesch is a professor of Public and Nonprofit Management in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and the Director of the Women's Philanthropy Institute at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Dr. Mesch's primary teaching responsibilities are courses in human resource management for public and nonprofit organizations. She received both her M.B.A. and Ph.D. in organizational behavior/human resources management from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Before coming to Indiana University, she taught at Simmons College and Northeastern University, College of Business Administration in Boston.

Her recent research agenda has focused on issues of civic engagement, volunteer motivation and management, executive compensation, diversity, and race and gender issues in giving and volunteering. Dr. Mesch has published more than 30 articles in academic journals.

Dr. Mesch has worked with several nonprofit organizations in the Indianapolis community including United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Goodwill Industries, and her students have worked with more than 40 nonprofit organizations through her courses in human resources management. She has been on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana for more than 10 years.
